Wendi, a student of S.S. Dempo College says that the device that tops her list is her phone which was given to her by her parents which makes it even more special for her.

"It is awesome at every single thing. The display is amazing and quite big, the processor is fast  and functions very smoothly, the camera is amazingly good and the speakers are loud. It can be operated by one hand, and it fits in the pocket perfectly. Super sturdy build nothing creaks or bends. "

"I basically wanted a phone which would eliminate the need of a laptop at the same time.  It has got S note. It is an app for making notes. It is perfect for my everyday needs, like gaming, watching movies, playing music and browsing the internet. It's blazing fast, no matter what I do "

SAMSUNG BHM1000 - Rachel Pires

Rachel Pires, a student of St. Xaviers College isn't a gadget maniac  as such but yes she is impressed with the performance of the bluetooth headset she gifted her friend.

"I get paranoid when my calls are ignored so I gifted my friend the headset so he can attend my calls when I call him."

When there is an incoming call there is a beep that can be heard when you plug in the headset. It is 1.8 inches long. 

It has a multifunction button which is in the middle of the headset, and is easy enough to find by feel. The volume rocker is on the left, and there is a power toggle on the right. The earpiece is clad with the silicon ear gel which makes the headset's fit to be quite comfortable.

Its basic features are answering, ending, and rejecting calls. But, its amazing features according to Rachel are the last number redial, call waiting support, voice command support, and multipoint connectivity which lets you connect up to two devices simultaneously.

 She finds it an affordable alternative to higher end Bluetooth headsets.



SONY WALKMAN NWZ-A845 MEDIA PLAYER - Joisten Cardozo

"Innovation is facination". That being said by Joisten Cardozo, a student of S.S. Dempo College.

"I love the concept of Sony transforming a WALKMAN cassette player into a handy slim electronic music/video player with amazing sound, 16GB memory, digital noise cancelling and a crazy 2.8 inch OLED display.

"Feature wise, it is bound to appeal anybody who wants a high quality portable music player and a slim design".

PHILIPS O'NEIL THE STRETCH - Tabrez Shaikh

Tabrez Shaikh, T.Y.Bcom of Dempo College of Commerce and Economics says "me and my headphones... sexy as ever".

The Philips O'Neil The Stretch headphones are attractively styled, very comfortable and relatively light weight for over the ear headphones we can detach the headphone cord.

Tabrez says "we can stretch and twist the headphones .They dont break this is the speciality of these headphones.That is why the name is the stretch.I love my headphones".

You dont have to worry about adjusting the size of the headphone band, you just put the headphones and you're good to go.

HTC EXPLORER - Vedangi Korde

Vedangi korde a student of BBA Section of S.S. Dempo college has a samsung s4 but says that likes her htc explorer more. Although she doesn't mean she likes her s4 less.

"It's a great phone, though it's camera is not upto the mark, but not that bad either. Enlarge one picture in full size but no pixels will be destroyed. Battery life is also remarkable."

It fits in the hand like a charm.

She says the speed is okay to use and the build quality is excellent.

She also says, "Its a phone meant for rough and tough use. I have had an amazing experience using it."

SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB 3 - Tanvi Paurana

Tanvi Paurana,18,first year BBA student of Dempo college.  The owner of Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7inch said, "I looked at 4 tablets in the same price range to decide what was best for me: The Nexus 7, the Asus 7inch tablet, the Dell tablet, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3. I was unimpressed by the Dell's specs, and lack of external SD Card lost my interest in the Nexus 7. Based on specs and price, I bought the Asus, but was disappointed by it. So I exchanged it for my 2nd choice, the Galaxy Tab 3."  

Tanvi added, "7 inch is just the right size for a person who travels a lot. Its light and very comfortable to carry in my college bag, tote or even in the hand. Camera and the screen is not that great but this 7inch  tab is definitely worth the money."

Tanvi loves to read, and the galaxy tab is small and handy for your eBooks, and this makes it the most fascinating gadget for this user.

SONY XPERIA SP- Milton Rodrigues

Milton ex student of Santa Cruz higher secondary says that he is in love with his baby!! No not his girlfriend, its his phone. "This thing is hands down the BEST midranger you can get or in other words, this does not belong in the mid range."

A transparent light strip at the bottom which gives the phone a sexy look.

Some of  the features liked by him are the 4.6inch screen which has high graphics, its fast processor,

android 4.3 jelly bean and

elegant slim body. 

The phone is a great support for the growing applications and games, the best from Sony middle class. 

Like everything else the phone has its own cons which Milton has experienced but he doesn't regret buying the phone.

APPLE IPHONE 5 - Naomi Mendonca

Naomi Mendonca, student of S.S. Dempo college says that she is fascinated with her Iphone 5. "Satisfied to have this gadget, it is simple to use, the display is one of the best specially for gaming,  graphics are really fantastic, sound quality is pretty good and it has  a very good processor."

"When you talk about performance, there's nothing to worry about. Its really great. The camera isn't great, but nothing awful. The screen is beautiful and has an excellent brightness.
When you talk about the design, the iPhone 5 is gorgeous."

When it  comes to social networking she says, it beats any phone with its fast loading time.

"You just simply cant and won't beat Apples products or phones, they are number 1 in the world. It dosent matter what new phones come out, apple will continue to dominate. The Iphone 5 is the king."

APPLE IPAD 4 - Akash Chavan

Another gadget maniac Akash Chavan, a BBA student of  Mes college of arts and commerce.

"I got mine this year and i love the experience."

He  says it has  good graphics and a good processor  "It's 4g model that's why it is fast."

Akash also told me some of the Ipad's features like its screen which is  cristal clear and perfect, running ios very fluently, running many apps at one time, and taking really good pictures.

He says he uses  it a lot, specially to browse the web.

"Personally, I believe that this is still the best 10 inch tablet."

APPLE IPHONE 5S - Varun Rajan

Varun Rajan, 20, BBA student of Dempo college had a lot to share about his Apple iPhone 5s: 

"This is my first smartphone I've ever had and as of having this for almost 5 months now it's a phenomenal experience. What most people have issues from is the screen but to me the screen size is fine.   

I love the speed and power of the device. It is fast, efficient, and great on movies, games, and photos.  I've not had any issues with lag at all over the use for 5 months.   

Next, I have to mention TouchID. I still use it as the main way to unlock my phone and have had it set up since day 1.   The camera, which to me is truly phenomenal. I've never had a camera this quality and it makes me want to take more photos. I also love the slow motion video recording.   Build quality of this device is truly mind blowing. It has a good comfortable feel in the hand easy to hold and control the device."   

Pretty much flattered by his device, Varun added "Everything will look uniform through the OS and almost anyone can pick up this device and learn how to use most of the main features within a 30 minute period which is one of my main reasons for loving it. So if the iPhone 6 seems to be a little expensive to you, Go grab the 5s."

SONY NWZ-W273 WALKMAN - Sigmund Pereira

Sigmund Pereira a student of Don Bosco higher secondary  is carried away by his mp3 player.

He is a swimmer and hardly has the time to watch the television or even sit down and rest back on a chair. Then how does he pass his time when he is idle? So the best gaget he feels is his mp3 player. "I take it for a dip in the pool, a session in the gym and run around town. Physical buttons are divided between the earpieces with Play, Skip Tracks, Hold and On switch on the right alongside a battery notification light. And very much easy to use. On the left you’ll find the volume rocker and the shuffle songs button where you can also access stored playlists."

Not just during the sporty time even when his in class he uses it "Once you’ve pulled them on they're barely noticeable. It does a brilliant noise cancelling job blocking out exterior noise."

"The battery life is also great and with the addition of a 3 minutes quick charge which gives you 60 minutes of playback it’s perfect for those who often have enough tech to remember to charge the night before."

SAMSUNG I9300 GALAXY S III - Brenson Dias

Samsung galaxy S 3 is the gadget that Brenson Dias, a student of St. Xavier college has fallen in love with.

He says it is an excellent smartphone with high specifications. I asked him what are the features that made him fall in love with his phone. "I really do enjoy the vivid colours of the 4.8" screen. It makes the photos look even better! Android ICS  is up-gradable to jelly bean including many other amazing features. The phones GPRS internet is even faster than 3G of some others. It has beautiful multi-window technology where you can literally check your emails and watch a YouTube video at the same time."

Although the S4 and S5 have been a hit but he still says he prefers his phone over them.

APPLE IPOD TOUCH 5TH GENERATION - Mackwin Rodrigues

Mackwin Rodrigues, ex student of S.S Dempo higher secondary school says the gadget he is fascinated with is his iPod. " Its actually my sisters iPod. She got it as a gift but I snatched it from her."

"A gadget full of various mind blowing features like a full hd display screen , a dual core processor, powered by the a5 chip. All that in the palm of Ur hand. A camera that shoots 1080psi videos, and a 32gb inbuilt memory. And its not a phone!! It has a beautiful body that is light weight and totally slim. I have been using it for over a year!! It doesn't lag."

Mackwin may forget to carry his phone but he cannot leave his iPod.

"People begin their day checking out their phones but I begin my day checking out my iPod and end the day either playing FIFA on it or just listening to good old Bob Marley songs."

Mackwin considers music a main element of his life so his always seen around with his ear phones plugged into his ears.

MACBOOK PRO - Tilton Fernandes

After using Toshiba, Hp and Sony Vaio all supported by windows operating system, Tilton Fernandes,18, BBA student of Dempo college had decided to expand his knowledge and experience with computing as he is pretty much an expert in Windows. 

Regardless that Windows 8 was a complete horrid experience for him, Tilton finally shifted to the MacBook Pro, with also an intention to finally work with OSX.    

As he travels constantly he needed a laptop that would be Slim, Beautiful and yet powerful with a ''Good'' battery life, unlike any ultra book out there, the Macbook retina covers all his wish list needs. Its so thin yet so powerful and smooth, the battery life is strictly 9 hours, thats more than enough for anyone's travel. It is beautifully designed and its a premium brand. 

Tilton says, "It feels good to use it in public."   

Since this is a premium brand, don't expect it cheap, However! Once you turn on that power button and look at your display, you'll come to your senses, that this laptop obviously has the best screen display out there !

He added "Overall, the quality is very high, the screen is the best I have ever seen on any laptop in the market these days. So your paying for a perfect machine with great specs and less inbuilt memory but we all have external HD anyways, OSX is a phenomenal Operating system, I don't need to worry about viruses or what anti virus program to install as everything is implemented within the machine, and I don't have to worry about bugs or what so ever because, I didn't experience any malfunction until now.   

If you have the money for it, simply go for it !"

SAMSUNG GALAXY S5 - Anisha Tari

People who want to buy this phone, just go ahead and buy it. You may hear S5 is slow, S5 is ugly etc etc. But as Samsung is a Big player in the smartphone industry it is all but natural to get crticism from all sides and fanboyism takes that critcism to trolling. 

Anisha Tari,18, BBA student of Dempo college, was a HTC maniac since the last 5years. This is the phone which made her change her mind to switch to Samsung. She had  the option to buy the iphone 5s or S5, & she got the S5. Its been a month since she has been using this phone, and she is very happy with all the features it provides. Anisha is pretty much impressed by the Display, Screensize, Camera, battery backup, water proofness of the device and most importantly by the fingerprint scanner.  

Anisha added, "The Galaxy S5 absolutely is a premium and fast phone. I've tested the S4 and its improvements over the S4 add up to a smoother experience. The phone's high-quality camera won't let you down, there are plenty of features to keep you occupied, and the display is bright and beautiful. The water-resistant seals are an extra perk if you often head to the pool, tub, or beach."

CUSTOM PC BUILD - Ashvij Vaidhya

My custom built beast of a PC !!

Well , for starters , I have always had an interest in technology, especially when it came to computers. I got my hands on my first computer at the age of 5 , back in 1999 when my dad bought the first PC to our house.I still remember my confusion when I first saw this huge piece of sophisticated technology. But as time passed , I realised that the computer is much more than a tool to entertain myself.

Well, nothing has changed since then , and my interest in computers still remains strong. Armed with nothing but self-taught knowledge , I set out to build my own custom PC from scratch in the summer of 2013. And this is what I have created:

Yes , I know. For most of you out there it seems like a bunch of wires and circuit boards , but any computer enthusiast would recognise the treasure that this cabinet holds. My (basic) PC Specifications are:

This PC is able to handle all games better than a PS3 or XBOX 360 and is capable of handling animation and programming softwares.

 

CANON EOS 500D - Radhika Lawande

"Its my baby ever since I got it  on my 17th birthday. I have been impressed with its each feature which are varied and it has the most unbelievable clarity." Says Radhika  Lawande a student of S.S. Dempo college. Every party, every outing Radhika is accompanied by her 'baby'.

"At the beginning when I got the camera I wondered if i should be excited about the gift, what would I do with a camera? Just click pictures! At that time every snapshot was just an ordinary one, but once I got to learn the art of clicking every picture I clicked  had a beautiful story I could interpret  every picture in its best sense."

She says photography is a language used to connect people, situations, emotions. Although it is expensive, the camera really produces every picture worth the amount spent. The perfect gift for a photographer.

SAMSUNG SMARTWATCH - Pratik Shinde

"The best thing about this gadget is to capture photos, videos and audios", says Pratik Shinde, a Saraswat student who now shows off with his brand new gadget, SAMSUNG GALAXY GEAR WATCH. Being so much in love with it, he cannot think of spending even one day without wearing it. 

"It looks very stylish and that's the reason I wear it everyday and also because it's very useful. Now I can control my device with voice and even make calls hand-free. I can see messages on my phone automatically as they arrive. It has a touch screen display with 1.9 megapixel camera along with a speaker and 2 microphones. Well, because of these features, the gadget turned out to be expensive. One of the disadvantage is that it has no independent internet connection. But still, it will always be my favourite gadget." says Pratik.

GO GEAR SPARK PHILIPS MP3 PLAYER - Shikha Saha

Shikha Saha, a student of GEC talks about the her most favorite gadget, GO GEAR SPARK PHILIPS MP3 PLAYER. Though she had bought it few years back, its the only gadget which fascinates her the most as she carries it every time while travelling. 

It's compact enough to roam around with it in her pocket or carry it anywhere. 

"It has a 4 GB memory and the quality of music is good but the only drawback is that it has a non-expandable memory. So it's not meant for music lovers. The battery life is pretty good , so it's perfect for travelling. Even though it has  a screen display, it's cheaper compared to other MP3 players", says Shikha.
